Prime minister laptop scheme is no longer available
Prime minister of Pakistan Imran khan has officially abolished the Prime minister’s laptop scheme. Now students from across the country will not be able to receive any laptop from government.
New government decides to put an end to laptop scheme.
This scheme was initiated by the former PM Nawaz Sharif on 23rd May, 2014.
After becoming the prime minister of Pakistan, Imran khan has changed several things in the administration of government. Decreasing the prime minister’s expenses, increasing the tax and cancelling the laptop scheme are some of the major changes. The Prime Minister Imran khan has always spoken against this scheme since its beginning. He said this was just another stunt to maintain PML-N's votes.

The prime minister’s laptop scheme was started by PML-N government during the budget speech of financial year 2013-14. This scheme was introduced to facilitate the deserving students by providing laptops to them.
Government used to distribute laptops every year among deserving students at Universities and colleges of Pakistan. More than 280,000 laptops have been distributed in various places of Punjab and Kashmir. But, now government has decided to not distribute laptops among the students. As a result, Students can no longer avail this opportunity.
Prime minister laptop scheme has come to an end.
