You obviously know what a #hashtag is, and very often people use it on social media like Twitter, Instagram etc. But do you know we can also use #hashtag on YouTube to rank our video. Yes, its true. You got to believe this. There are so many Youtuber who use #hashtag in their video.

How to use #hashtag in YouTube videos?

Now the question arise here how to use it on our YouTube channel? Well, you might think we will use it in the tag section of your YouTube channel, but that’s not the usage of it. You can’t use #hashtag in you tag section or if you do use it there, it won’t give you any benefit.

You can only use #hashtag in your channel description section. You can use as #hashtags as you want, but the recommended numbers of #hashtags are 15, it’s good to use less rather than 30 or 40.



What should I write in #hashtag?

Well, it’s on that what you want to show to your viewers. It’ll show all the related videos on YouTube weather you upload those or else.
Suppose I have video about “Top 5 beautiful places in the world”. Now I want rank it on YouTube to get more views. So, I will definitely use.

#Top 5 places, #Top 5 beautiful places, #Top 5 Best places for visit etc.

Now these tags will appear in my title too. Which is a very good feature added by YouTube. If a viewer clicks over any of the above #hashtags, a new window will open and will shows all the videos related to tags. It’s simply means I am sending viewers to my others videos.



Where you can not use #hashtags?

According to YouTube’s policy there are few materials where you are not allowed to use #hashtags.
They are sexual content, harassment, threatening to an individual or group, vulgar language, exposing material, misleading content, hate speeches that promote hatred against an individual or group etc.
If you don’t follow these rules your video may be deleted by YouTube as it is not comply with YouTube community guidelines.

So, it’s good to know all these terms before using #hashtags in your videos. Or else your video gets removed by YouTube.
